FFGR Japan maintains active ground operations at every major arrival point for private aviation: Haneda Business Aviation Centre (HND), Narita's general aviation apron (NRT), Kansai's GA terminal (KIX), Itami (ITM), Chitose (CTS) for Hokkaido arrivals, Fukuoka (FUK), Centrair (NGO) and Naha (OKA). Each FBO has its own access protocol, its own customs choreography, and its own quirks of geography. Haneda's Business Aviation Centre permits planeside vehicle staging. Narita requires a transfer between the GA apron and the customs hall — we handle this with a dedicated lounge greeter. Kansai's GA terminal is on the opposite side of the runway from the commercial terminal — distance matters when calculating arrival timing.

Tarmac Protocol — What Happens From Wheels-Down to Hotel

Twenty-four hours before your ETA, your FFGR coordinator confirms your aircraft tail number, parking stand, and approximate landing time. Forty-five minutes before ETA, your Maybach S-Class, Lexus LM 500h or armoured B7 vehicle is positioned at the FBO airside entrance. Where regulations permit, the vehicle is staged within the secure apron itself; otherwise it waits at the FBO's designated airside gate.

Customs and immigration are processed in the FBO's private lounge — typically four to six minutes for principal arrivals with pre-cleared passenger lists. The driver greets at the lounge exit, luggage is loaded by the ground handler, and you depart before commercial passengers from a flight on the same arrival window have reached baggage claim.

Aircraft Type & Vehicle Match

Ultra-long-range arrivals — Gulfstream G650, G700, Global 7500, Falcon 8X — typically carry principal parties of two to six passengers, with crew and luggage. Our standard pairing is one Maybach S-Class for the principal couple and one Lexus LM 500h for the broader party and luggage. For solo principal arrivals, the Maybach handles the full transfer.

Heavy jet arrivals — Falcon 7X, Challenger 650, Citation Longitude — follow the same pattern. Super-midsize aircraft with smaller parties pair to a single Lexus LM 500h with executive privacy configuration. For armoured requirements, our B6 or B7 vehicle is available at Haneda and Narita with 24 hours' notice.

Customs, Immigration & Special Procedures

Japan operates strict customs protocols for private aviation, including Foreign Animal & Plant inspections and currency declarations for transfers above ¥1 million. Our coordinator pre-prepares your APIS data with your flight department, ensuring customs inspection time is minimised at arrival.

For diplomatic and royal arrivals requiring expedited processing, FFGR Japan maintains established relationships with the Japan Customs and Immigration liaison offices at Haneda and Narita. Documentation and protocol coordination are handled in advance — never improvised at arrival.

Departure Coordination — The Reverse Choreography

For departures, our coordinator confirms your aircraft's slot time, fuel uplift status and crew briefing window 24 hours before. The vehicle collects you from your hotel or residence with sufficient buffer for traffic — typically 90 minutes for Haneda departures, 150 minutes for Narita. Customs out-bound is handled at the FBO; you board your aircraft seven to ten minutes after arrival at the lounge.

For onward private aviation connections within Japan — Tokyo to Sapporo for Niseko, Tokyo to Naha for Okinawa — we coordinate the regional FBO arrival and onward ground transfer under the same account.

How to Coordinate Your Japan Arrival
